Yet another year has come to an end. Two thousand fifteen came and went in the blink of an eye. The year was brought in with high expectations. Two thousand thirteen was a hard year. It was a year that when it finally came to an end, it was a breath of fresh air. Two thousand fourteen was brought in with hopes of a better year. While it brought its own round of hardships and trials, it also brought new experiences and memories that will live on for years to come.

Finally, the countdown to two thousand fifteen began and it was rung in with a new relationship, a countdown until graduation, and the anticipation of future plans coming to fruition.

The year went nothing like planned.

It is easy to form ideations of what the future looks like. The imagination is a wonderful thing, yet it can also lead to disappointment. Sometimes we get ahead of ourselves and think so far into the future that when life does not follow the tracks we laid, it is hard to stomach. So often things begin to move in a certain direction at snails pace, but instead of keeping the same pace we take off sprinting ahead crossing our fingers that life will catch up with us in the way that we desire.

However, not knowing the future is best. The thought of knowing the future sounds good in theory, but the anticipation of unpredictable life circumstances is what makes life exciting. Of course, there are things that everyone wishes they had known so they could have prevented it from happening, but we live and we learn.

So, here’s to another year! Who knows what this year will bring. Good times and bad times will come, but in a years time we will be able to look back and see the roller coaster of life that we got to ride and reminisce on all of our experiences. People walk in and out of our lives. We graduate, change jobs, move away, and come back home. Life is full of experiences that we are meant to learn from. We enjoy the good and shed tears over the hardships. In the end, we have to hold our head up high and become stronger individuals as a result of our past.

Life is a beautiful thing and every day that we get to live is a true blessing. This next year is bound to bring countless surprises, joy, sorrow, and laughter. Take it in strides because you never know how many days are left.
